What are you doing with your life?
…or what’s your purpose? 🤮
The worst question.
Makes it virtually impossible to decide what to do.
We live in a world now with SO MANY OPTIONS.
Too many.
It’s harder than ever...
But also easier than ever…
There’s a quote I love:
"It's not what you do, but who you do it with that counts."
We obsess over the “what”.
I want to be a__________ (Mime).
…I’m not saying it’s not important.
Of course it is.
If you’re going to spend 40+ hours week doing that thing, you should try to at least enjoy it. See the value in it. Take pride in it.
It’s hard to be good at something, if you don’t enjoy it... even slightly.
However, if you’ve lived in this world. You know.
A teacher can ruin a great class.
A boss can ruin a job.
A partner can ruin a business.
When we see an opportunity and start to envision what it will look like...
We step into fantasy land for a brief moment.
“It’s going to be great!” “I was meant for this!”
Not sure about you… but I’ve had enough of those experiences to know… it’s rarely the case.
The role itself could be great.
But the people you have to work with everyday “might” not be.
These are the people you have to spend a big chunk of your life with.
Make decisions with.
Make a living with.
Most importantly → spend YOUR TIME with.
…and WHO you spend YOUR TIME WITH is EVERYTHING.
Your TIME is the most precious currency you have.
If you aren’t where you want to be at in life and you don’t know what that is.
Look for the right people.
People that you look up to, aspire to be like and who will help you grow.
Surround yourself with good people and good things will happen!
The “what” will come naturally…
Kum-Ba-Ya!
