Sidetracked.
Question - What’s important to you?
I’ve written a lot about focusing, setting deadlines, starting…
But, this past week…
I Didn’t Do Shit.
I didn’t follow my own advice.
Everyday I started with a To-Do List.
Everyday I had the intention of CROSSING it all off.
Everyday I DID NOT scratch ONE THING off.
Until this Newsletter.
“My life got flipped-turned upside down” (Hard to even quote the Fresh Prince without feeling a little…gross)
When someone in the family is sick or something bad happens to a friend, life stops.
When a pandemic hits, as we now know, life stops.
When something tragic happens, life stops.
This past week a Terrorist attack happened and LIFE STOPPED.
I haven’t been able to look away for 5 minutes.
I have never felt so impassioned about a world event.
I have never felt so ANGRY either.
Life stopped.
An event like this makes you realize, it’s important to have a voice. Not just to “have a creative outlet” or grow your “personal brand”, but to be able to speak up, when it’s important.
I didn’t mean to turn this into a Politic-y email.
But honestly, I don’t care.
…and that’s my point.
When something like this happens, your “Goals”, “To Do lists”, “Focus Tools” all get put aside.
What’s important puts everything in perspective.
And that’s ok.
We’re Human. Not AI Robots.
It’s only normal to get sidetracked.
But at a certain point, we must get back on track.
