Kaballah 101
I’ve always been curious about Kaballah.
Just curious.
Never enough to do something about it or even watch a Youtube Video on it.
But at some point I must have subscribed to a Kaballah newsletter.
I must’ve.
They had an offer: 10-week course, Kaballah 101, 90 minutes a week - on Zoom.
Easy enough. It conflicts with Yoga, but…
Kaballah. Yoga.
I’m getting very close to joining Oprah’s Book Club.
Anyways.
It was kind of Self-Helpy. I thought I was going to be learning some deep Jewish Wisdom. But it was more like, the “law of attraction” meets Mordecai Greenblatt.
…and the crowd. Holy shit.
It MIGHT as well have been Oprah’s Book Club.
I was probably the only one NOT taking Ozempic.
Who’s the opposite of “The Fonz”? That’s basically how I felt.
Pretty sure everyone was PVR’ing ‘The View’ in the class.
Anyways…
After the presentation, we go into these Zoom breakout rooms for further discussion.
(If you don’t know what a Zoom breakout room is, your life is better than mine.)
It’s immediately super awkward, for me.
The Moderator asks the room (30+ppl) if they had any conflicts etc.. something like that. I don’t remember (seriously I don’t remember).
And one lady had the confidence to start.
But she was treating it like it was a free one-on-one therapy session…and was missing the point of the entire lesson. “No, but you don’t understand, it’s a physical thing.”
...and she went on and on.
No social awareness.
That was my Queue to leave, but I couldn’t.
I had to see if she would stop herself or could she have literally gone on longer…
She got stopped…and seem confused, cause she wasn’t done.
Then I realize, I’m at a point in my life where I’m in a “Zoom Breakout Room” listening to her.
I’ve never been more motivated to succeed than at that very moment.
Shalom,
Jonny
