I attended a conference this past week.
Long days, holy shit.
I thought with my daily runs and “good routine” I should be fine.
I wasn’t.
I was tired, drained and ready to crash at the end of each day.
It probably didn’t help that I over-compensated by drinking lots of coffee and eating like I was a “growing teenager”.
I’m not.
I haven’t been a “growing teenager” since I was 13. Only thing that keeps growing is my facial hair, which my friends love to remind me of. Before I go to an airport, I need to shave right before, so I don’t get mistaken for a Jihadist.
Anyways.
Typically, I’m not a fan of conferences or Trade Shows. They’re awkward and feel forced.
It’s always a humbling experience.
“I’m better than this”
Truth is, I’m not.
….you just never know what opportunities can come from it.
Not to mention, you can learn a lot in a very short period of time.
I did.
At this conference, there were interesting panels, one-on-one meetings, and a lot of grabbing people on the side for a quick chat, the old “side-chat”. 😉
It’s so easy nowadays to just stay at home, hop on some G Meets or Zooms and continue living in your “comfort zone” and “convenient” routine.
It works.
Less distractions.
But - putting yourself out there, even for a brief period of time…
In Real Life.
Can accelerate what you’re doing.
You can develop relationships, which in business - is EVERYTHING.
You can LEARN SO MUCH in LESS TIME, through brief interactions.
…and bottom line, you step out of that cozy, adorable comfort zone.
That’s where the magic happens.
Whatever you’re doing.
Get the fuck out.
Meet people like it’s 2019.
A pleasure doing business with you,
Jonny Goldmaker
