Cape Canaveral
I’m back on the Sales & Business Development Train.
It always makes me a bit nervous at first.
It also makes me a bit depressed.
Like… I’m starting from “0” again.
A Nobody.
Jonny Who?
Feel bad for me yet?
The Truth is, I’m working with a great, small company with a solid team.
The industry itself is pretty good too.
Plenty of opportunities.
It’s constantly evolving…and there’s a lot to learn.
I feel old.
…but that’s actually a good thing.
The company uses all these modern day apps for collaboration.
I feel like every time they show me how to use an app, I should be putting down the newspaper and reaching for my glasses.
But, I’m learning.
And…that’s a great thing.
We should always be learning.
Initially, I was depressed.
….thinking, how am I at this stage in life where I’m ‘starting from the bottom’.
How am I NOT on board my own Rocket Ship? 🚀
A wise friend told me, “Jonny you’re building the rocket ship. Instead of building it alone in your garage, you’re hanging around Cape Canaveral.”
It put everything in perspective.
It’s great to be surrounded by a younger, hungry team that’s on top of the latest technologies.
But for now…this old fart needs to go finish a Crossword Puzzle and sip on some Ovaltine.
It’s already 7:30PM! Yikes!
Thanks,
Mr. Goldmaker
